We are currently recruiting a Chair to lead our Board of Trustees to ensure the effective, safe and efficient governance of Blue Ventures. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to lead the Board of one of the world’s fastest growing conservation organisations, a highly acclaimed, award-winning social enterprise working at the interface of nature conservation and community development across the tropics.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated, diverse and distinguished Board, presenting considerable breadth of expertise and leadership experience. As part of our ongoing organisational growth, we are looking to add further capability to this group with a new Board Chair. The Chair will also be expected to act as a coach and mentor for the Senior Management Team as this organisation goes through a period of rapid growth and change.
The candidate will Chair four Board meetings per year, in addition to regular contact with the Executive Director and other members of the Senior Management Team.
The Chair will hold the Board and Senior Management Team to account for the Charity’s mission and vision, providing oversight and leadership of the Board of Trustees, ensuring that each trustee fulfils their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity. The Chair will also support the Executive Director and ensure that the Board functions as a unit and works closely with the entire Executive of the charity to achieve agreed objectives. He or she will act as an ambassador and the public face of the charity in partnership with the Executive Director.
