We rebuild tropical fisheries with coastal communities (YPL)

Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organisation that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity.  Our work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s remote coastal communities and is growing globally.  Across a dozen countries, we’re partnering with traditional fishers and community organisations to design, scale, strengthen and sustain fisheries management and conservation at the community level.  We bring partners together in networks to advocate for reform, and share tools and best practices to support fishing communities across the globe.

Summary and Role of Board of Patrons

Yayasan Pesisir Lestari (YPL) is a Bali-based marine conservation organisation that aims to empower coastal communities managing their local marine ecosystems in ways that enrich livelihoods and sustain healthy oceans for generations to come. Based in Bali, in cooperation with Blue Ventures, a UK-based marine conservation organisation, we're building partnerships with local organisations who work closely with coastal communities across provinces in Indonesia.

Our Board of Patrons is the highest-level governance and decision-making authority within Yayasan Pesisir Lestari (YPL). Patrons ensure that YPL has a clear strategy, and that its work and goals are in line with the Yayasan’s vision.
The Patrons are unpaid volunteers, and carry the overall legal responsibility for the decisions and actions of the Yayasan.
